This course is delivered on Northeast Maritime Online or NEMO°, our learning management system, with follow-up on-site examination/assessments scheduled at Northeast Maritime Institute, as required by the U.S. Coast Guard.
This course is designed to teach individuals how to provide extensive or long-term care for individuals and covers topics such as anatomy/physiology, diagnostics, First Aid/CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) in a ship-board environment.

The Medical Care PIC Blended Course course satisfies the training for mariners who provide medical care to the sick and injured while they remain on board ship, in accordance with 46 CFR 12.621 (a)(1&2) AND the approved training for Management of Medical Care requirement of 11.305 (a)(3)(ix); 11.307(a)(3)(ix); 11.311(a)(3)(vi); 11.313(a)(3)(vi); 11.315(a)(3)(ii) and Section A-VI/4-2 of the STCW Code.
Applicants are not required to submit completed Task Assessment sheets when applying for these endorsements.
